Redbud Parade a success
HIT: Lakeshore Lions Club drew about 20 more participants in the 55th annual Redbud Parade and Festival. More participants were drawn in the 12th annual Show and Shine Car Show, as well.

Fun for the Fourth
HIT: Fireworks shows and other
festivities took place around the lake this week in honor of Independence Day.
HIT: The Lakeport Yacht Club”s fifth annual Cardboard and Duct Tape Regatta was its biggest yet, with more than 20 participants.
MISS: Things became hectic in
downtown Lakeport early Thursday morning when police responded to a brawl near a bar, located one man with a severe head injury and found an unruly crowd of at least 65 other people. Officers believe a break-in reported about an hour later was retaliation for the fight.
Deaths near Diener
MISS: The first fatal crash of July reported in Lake County happened early Tuesday morning, barely three days into the month. Two men died and a third was injured when their SUV struck a tree off Highway 29 near Diener Drive.
Marijuana meeting Monday
HIT: Regardless of the outcome, the Board of Supervisors made a necessary decision to schedule its interim marijuana law discussion for Monday in Fritch Hall at the Lake County Fairgrounds ? a venue larger than the board chambers.
Cal Fresh benefits
HIT: A grant from United Way enables customers who use Cal Fresh electronic benefit transfer (EBT) at Lake County Farmers” Finest markets to receive bonus tokens for purchases. Cal Fresh recipients can swipe their EBT cards at the information booth and get wooden tokens for the amount they would like to spend. For as long as supplies last, they will receive additional tokens to maximize their
purchases.
