CLEARLAKE — The sentencing of a man who pleaded no contest to killing his father in May 2007 was continued Friday before Judge Stephen O. Hedstrom.
The sentencing hearing in the case against Justin Medvin, 28, of Clearlake, is scheduled for 3 p.m. Friday in Lake County Superior Court Department 4 in Clearlake.
The case was continued to allow Hedstrom time to review newly-submitted materials, including written correspondence and audio/video exhibits. Exhibits pertain to sentencing.
Medvin pleaded no contest to charges of voluntary manslaughter in January.
Medvin was arrested on Memorial Day 2007 after police officers responded to a home on 31st Avenue in Clearlake and found Steven D. Medvin, 45, dead with multiple stab wounds.
Authorities charged Justin Medvin with murder in connection with his father”s death, and he has remained in custody since late-May 2007.
Medvin is being represented by Thomas Quinn and Susan Krones is prosecuting the case.
