MAXWELL — A series of fires, identified as the Sites Complex, has blackened an estimated 1,582 acres along Lodoga Road in the foothills west of Maxwell.
According to a fact sheet issued this morning by Cal Fire-Sonoma-Lake-Napa, 1,145 firefighters, including 42 fire engines and 16 bulldozers, are battling the fires.
As of 9 a.m. the series of blazes were 10 percent contained.
Three of the fires that make up the “complex” ? the Antelope Fire, 75 acres, the Sites Fire, 100 acres, and the Standard Fire, seven acres ? are all listed as 100 percent contained, but the 1,400-acre Grapevine Fire reportedly is only 10 percent contained.
The fires broke out around 3:45 p.m. Sunday, according to the fact sheet.
