This is in response to Dean Sparks” letter that ran in the Lake County Record-Bee entitled, “Lions should be confined,” where he stated that lions get hit by cars around here.
It has scared a few people and he stated that they should all be slaughtered like ants in our kitchen, because what if it was a child who was attacked.
If it hasn”t happened yet, I wouldn”t worry about it.
Lions didn”t just get to Lake County yesterday; they”ve been here longer than we have.
In my opinion we are the intruders and the threat, as Sparks admitted, since mountain lions are frequently hit by cars.
Now his suggestion is that we should become even more a threat by hunting and killing these beasts.
Heaven forbid should aliens come to earth and think like you.
