LAKEPORT — Official nomination papers for Lakeport City Council Member openings will be available Monday for candidates interested in running.
Three seats are available, each for a four-year term. Interested candidates must be registered to vote and reside within the Lakeport city limits. The deadline to file nomination papers is Aug. 10 at 5 p.m.
Each candidate must be nominated by not less than 20 or more than 30 registered voters. It is recommended that interested candidates pick up nomination papers well in advance of the filing deadline to allow time to gather signatures.
Interested candidates should contact City Clerk Janel Chapman at 263-5615, ext. 12 for further information and to set up an appointment to pick up and go over the nomination packet.
