MIDDLETOWN — Lake County Sheriff”s Office (LCSO) patrol deputies responded Monday to a reported burglary at the Tri Counties Bank in Middletown.
Deputies responded at 8:12 a.m. to the bank, located at 21097 Calistoga Road (Highway 29), according to LCSO Sgt. Steve Brooks. Bank employees discovered the burglary as they arrived for work Monday.
Suspects were able to enter the bank sometime Saturday night and compromised the ATM located inside, according to Brooks. An unknown amount of cash was removed from the ATM.
Numerous LCSO deputies, detectives and command staff responded to the scene. Crime scene investigators also responded to collect evidence. The FBI was contacted and notified of the burglary.
Brooks said the investigation is ongoing and additional information regarding the burglary will be released as it is obtained. Anyone with information regarding this crime should contact the LCSO at 263-2690.
