LUCERNE — A Lucerne man was arrested Monday evening following a Lake County Sheriff”s Office investigation into the armed robbery of the Fosters Freeze in Lucerne.
LCSO patrol deputies Monday were following up on leads concerning the robbery, which occurred Saturday.
A man allegedly entered the restaurant around 3:42 p.m. and approached an employee working the cash register, removed a handgun from his pants and demanded all the money in the till. It was reported the man took more than $200 and left in an unknown direction of travel.
The suspect was described as a white man with bad teeth in his early 20s, 5 feet, 5 inches tall, short blond hair and unshaven.
According to LCSO Sgt. Steve Brooks, deputies Monday received information that the person possibly responsible for the armed robbery was Skyler Yale Holden, 21.
Deputies contacted Holden Monday at 6:50 p.m. at a residence on Seventh Avenue, where it is alleged he was positively identified as the person responsible for the crime. During an interview with patrol deputies, Holden allegedly admitted to committing the robbery, according to Brooks.
Holden was arrested on charges of robbery, being armed in the commission of a felony and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was transported and booked into the Lake County Hill Road Correctional Facility.
