LAKEPORT — Police made an arrest in a reported battery that occurred in the 200 block of N. Main St. in the early morning hours of July 5.
After conducting interviews and a follow-up investigation, Lakeport Police Department (LPD) detectives identified Lakeport resident Nicholas Edward Kirsch, 28, as the suspect in the alleged battery, according to LPD Sgt. Kevin Odom.
LPD detectives submitted the investigation to the District Attorney”s Office and a warrant was issued for Kirsch”s arrest Thursday.
Odom said LPD officers went to Kirsch”s Sixth Street residence Thursday about 9 p.m. and took him into custody without incident. He was booked into the Lake County Hill Road Correctional Facility on charges of battery with serious bodily injury.
Odom said the victim in the case was identified as Niles Eugene Biffle, 28, of Nice. Biffle was released from the hospital and is recovering from his injuries, according to Odom.
