SACRAMENTO — Daniel Glazier of Lakeport and Brian Hanson of Kelseyville recently completed the 27-week cadet training course at the California Highway Patrol (CHP) Academy.
Cadet training included vehicle patrol, accident investigation, first aid, apprehension and arrest of suspected violators including those who drive under the influence of alcohol or drugs, traffic control, report writing, recovery of stolen vehicles, assisting the motoring public, issuing citations, emergency scene management and knowledge of various codes including the Vehicle Code, Penal Code and health and Safety Code.
Glazier is a 2000 graduate of Clear Lake High School in Lakeport. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in history from Southern Virginia University in Buena Vista, Va. Prior to joining the CHP, Glazier worked for the United States Forestry Service as a hotshot wildland firefighter.
Hanson is a 2001 graduate of Kelseyville High School in Kelseyville. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism from California State University, Chico. Prior to joining the CHP, Hanson worked as a seasonal firefighter for California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection.
