LAKEPORT — Two cars collided Tuesday at about noon on Lakeport Boulevard, which caused one driver to lose control and hit a parked U.S. Forest Service law enforcement pickup truck.

According to Officer Gary Basor with the Lakeport Police Department (LPD), the driver of the BMW made a left turn from the Blockbuster Video parking lot to go westbound on Lakeport Boulevard.

The driver of the Subaru was also heading westbound and, for reasons unknown, the cars collided. The force of the impact caused the Subaru driver to lose control and hit the U.S. Forest Service pickup truck, which was unoccupied and parked on Lakeport Boulevard.

No one was injured in the crash.

LPD and City of Lakeport officials temporarily diverted traffic along Lakeport Boulevard for approximately 45 minutes. Eastbound traffic was diverted down Bevins Street and westbound traffic was routed into the Bruno”s Shop Smart to go back to South Main Street. Drugs and alcohol did not appear to be a factor in the crash.
