LAKEPORT — People interested in running for one of three Lakeport City Council vacancies can still file paperwork next week.

Because incumbent Roy Parmentier did not file Friday, potential candidates can submit nomination papers until 5 p.m. Wednesday, according to City Clerk Janel Chapman.

The four people who filed so far — incumbents Bob Rumfelt and Suzanne Lyons, businessman Kenny Parlet and former planning commissioner Marc Spillman — each collected enough signatures to qualify for the November ballot, Chapman said.

For more information, contact Chapman at 263-5615, ext. 12 or jchapman@cityoflakeport.com. In order to run, a person must be a city resident who is registered to vote.
