LAKE COUNTY — The Lake County Community (Lake) Co-op seeks owner and customer input to consider offering non-organic products through the co-op.

A roundtable discussion takes place at 6 p.m. Aug. 21 at Common Grounds Coffee House, located at 9730 Soda Bay Road in the Riveria Shopping Center.

According to a notice published at www.localfoodmarketplace.com/lake.coop/, the co-op has been has been approached by North Coast Opportunities (NCO), the current holder of the LakeCountyGrown.com online ordering system, to merge efforts.

LakeCountyGrown.com is focused on Lake County grown and processed products and allows local, non-organic producers to sell through its system.

Possible benefits of merging efforts, according to the notice from the co-op, could be reduced cost of overhead, increased variety and volume of products available to co-op consumers; an expanded customer base and a more unifed local food system in Lake County with opportunities to expand into Mendocino County.

People who are unable to attend the roundtable are encouraged to send topics, talking points, feedback and questions to info@lake.coop prior to Aug. 21.
