LAKEPORT — In anticipation of Clear Lake High School (CLHS)”s third annual Challenge Day event, Tina Scott is the new dedicated parent for Challenge Day activities.

“Tina has been helping me for the past year with C-Day activities and the CLHS ?Be The Change” club,” community supporter June Wilson said. “She has agreed to take on the role of the C-Day dedicated parent for CLHS.”

The school”s third annual Challenge Day event takes place Sept. 12 and 13. The program needs adult participants.

According to Wilson, Challenge Day is a program that provides youth and their communities a workshop designed to demonstrate the possibility of love and connection through the celebration of diversity, truth and full expression with the goal of building a community of peace, hope and love.

“This program teaches youth and adults how to connect with each other, gain awareness on how they impact each other and helps to enhance strong leadership in our youth,” Wilson said. “The goal is to help create a school where every child feels safe, loved and celebrated.”

A community “Circle Of Change” team continues to meet at 6 p.m. on the first Tuesday of each month at Round Table Pizza in Lakeport.

To sign up as an adult participant for Challenge Day at CLHS, call Tina Scott at 263-5193. For more information about Challenge Day, visit www.challengeday.org.
