CLEARLAKE OAKS — An arrest was made following a fight involving multiple people late Wednesday night.
Lake County Sheriff”s Office (LCSO) deputies responded to the 100 block of Hoover Street in Clearlake Oaks around 11 p.m. Wednesday and noticed several people in the middle of the street engaging in a physical fight, according to LCSO Public Information Officer Sgt. Steve Brooks.
Brooks said deputies contacted the victim, who was allegedly hit with a cinder block-style brick. The victim reported hearing people outside his home yelling. He looked outside and allegedly saw three men start attacking one of his neighbors.
The victim went outside and told the men not to fight in front of his home. He allegedly attempted to pull the men off the neighbor. The victim reported the number of people involved in the fight grew in number and they became hostile toward him, allegedly threatening to kill him.
The victim said he looked up and allegedly saw Howard Darnell Reed, 20, of Clearlake Oaks pick up the brick and hit him with it. The brick allegedly struck the victim on the left arm and shoulder, according to Brooks.
Reed was arrested on an assault with a deadly weapon charge and was transported and booked into the Lake County Hill Road Correctional Facility.
