LAKEPORT — Mendocino College will offer a test taking strategies course, CCS 123.2 ? Section 0065, 9 a.m. to 12:50 p.m. on two Saturdays, Sept. 22 and 29, at the Lake County Office of Education (LCOE), located at 1152 S. Main St. in Lakeport.

This course is designed to help students prepare for multiple exams including the California High School Exit Exam, SAT, ACT, College Entrance and Placement exams as well as state testing.

This course will be offered free of charge to Lake County high school students thanks to a local Walmart grant. LCOE will pay unit fees and material cost for high school students in Lake County. Students must attend all eight hours to receive credit.

This course will take the place of the SAT Prep courses previously offered by LCOE.

High school students who wish to have their registration, unit fees and book paid for by LCOE must turn in their paperwork to Tammy Serpa at LCOE by Sept. 14. High school counselors/office have necessary student forms or students may contact LCOE at tserpa@lakecoe.org or 262-4164 to have one mailed or emailed.

The general public must enroll directly with Mendocino College and pay all applicable fees. The course is worth 0.5 units. Mendocino College can be reached at 263-4944.

Space is limited to 30 students. Mendocino reserves the right to cancel the course if enrollment is less than 12 students.
