LAKE COUNTY — Some of the areas” prime musicians of the younger set can be found downtown, on Main Street in Lakeport this weekend.

Lake County pianist, songwriter and performer Matt Weiss returns to the Soper Reese Community Theatre Saturday to showcase his new pop CD, “Letting Go.”

He is one of the opening acts for headliner, Cheating Daylight.

Weiss, 19, former keyboard player of The Lost Boys band.

The Lost Boys performed together for four years opening for bands such as Journey, All-American Rejects, Tim McGraw and Kelly Clarkson.

Weiss is a sophomore at California State University, Chico where he was recently accepted into the recording arts technology program.

He hopes to combine his passion for composing and songwriting with a career in recording engineering.

Weiss will be joined on stage by musical friends K-Town Entertainment, brother Andy “Zesty” Weiss and Jacob Gill of Cheating Daylight. Weiss will also join Cheating Daylight on stage for a collaborative performance of classic hits, “Sweet Home Alabama” and Van Halen”s “Jump.”
