As the month of August winds down, I have much to think about. I am grateful that our local fires have been brought under control and help was available when needed, but more planning is needed for future danger.
I compare the recent Richmond refinery fire to the PG&E disaster in San Bruno two years ago. The fact that needed and overdue repairs were not made in time but the company”s first response was to raise gas prices to cover future losses, much as PG&E told us to expect rate increases as they continue to delay making changes.
I wonder if Mitt Romney realizes that in choosing Ryan as a running mate, he has a guaranteed life insurance policy since no one is likely to assassinate him to put Ryan in the Presidency.
