UKIAH — Officials identified Ruthe Feigh, 80, of Lucerne as the woman who died after a two-car crash on Highway 101 north of Ukiah Tuesday night.

She succumbed to her injuries at John Muir Medical Center in Concord after the crash that caused major injuries to her husband as well as the teenager driving the other car.

Ralph Feigh, 87, of Lucerne remains in the Concord hospital, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).

There were no updates on the status of Maria Vega, 17, of Ukiah, who was airlifted to Queen of the Valley Medical Center in Napa after the nighttime crash.

Ralph Feigh was driving the couple”s Toyota Camry northbound on Highway 101 in the left-hand lane at 8:55 p.m. Tuesday when he changed lanes directly into the path of Vega”s Honda Accord, which was in the right-hand lane, the CHP stated.

Vega swerved to the right, applied her brakes and traveled off the highway, the CHP stated. The Camry also went off the roadway.

Each car struck a tree.
