CLEARLAKE PARK — One person died after a home caught fire on 10th Street Monday morning. The deceased person, whose name was not released, appeared to be the only occupant, according to Capt. David Deakins of the Lake County Fire Protection District (LCFPD). “The building was a total loss,” the captain said. The cause remains under investigation. The initial call came in about 6:50 a.m. Monday, but power lines fell on a metal fence surrounding the home just as the first responders arrived, hindering suppression efforts, Deakins added. Containment took 10 to 15 minutes. CAL FIRE and the Northshore Fire Protection District each sent one engine.
