I am responding to Sharon Nicoll”s answer to my letter regarding Paul Ryan”s candidacy as vice president, Joe Biden may occasionally put his foot in his mouth but I feel that his heart is in the right place: that is one of my criteria for choosing a leader, not his eloquence delivering a speech.
Other criteria for choosing a President are: Romney cannot possibly know where the rest of America is coming from because he has never been there.
He was born to wealth; he did not need to agonize over the cost of his wife”s medical care when she was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis because they could afford the best.
He did not have to choose between being with her or taking time away from a job; his children would have the best of care and the bills would get paid in the meantime. If economic times get tough for him, his biggest decision might be which of the several family homes to sell.
Romney continues to mention his father, George, as having been governor of Michigan. Well, I was born and raised in Michigan; relatives, friends and I all worked there when Romney was in office and that was the beginning of the state”s economic problems, which prompted a move to California in the ?70s for better opportunities. If Mitt knew much about his father”s early training in the automotive field, he should have referred to him as a “lathe” operator and not a “lath” operator.
