FORESTVILLE — The Kelseyville Knights went the distance to beat the El Molino Lions 25-22, 14-25, 19-25, 25-20, 15-6 in a non-league varsity volleyball match on Monday in Forestville.
“They had to fight and claw their way back as a team,” Kelseyville coach Donelle McCallister said.
Kelseyville”s comeback began in game three even though the Knights lost 25-19.
“We came back big in the third game to make it that close,” McCallister said.
That momentum rolled over into the fourth and fifth games, which the Knights won to take the match.
Jeannie Johnson and Jennifer Green led Kelseyville at the net, Johnson with 13 kills and three blocks and Green with 12 kills. Other team leaders were Abby McQueen with four aces, Mary McAllister with 11 digs and Dakota Rixen with eight digs.
Kelseyville also won the junior varsity match 25-20, 25-18.
The Knights are home tonight to play Upper Lake. JV action begins at 5 p.m.
