Between fires, the condition of the lake, marijuana issues and the like, there has been much negativity about living in Lake County.

We have lived here 33 years, and always felt lucky and blessed to have found Lake County.

Nothing makes us prouder than to see our 4-H, and FFA young people at the Lake County Fair.

As business people in the community, several of these young people visit us prior to the auction, where they sell the animals they have lived with and loved this past year.

Although many of them are with their families, the person who has raised their animal makes a very professional presentation about selling their animal.

They always are dressed in their uniforms, very polite, and respectful. There never is any pressure to buy, but just an informative visit.

As prospective buyers, when we visit the fair prior to the auction, they never just stand there by their animal if you walk by. They always are very pleasant and more than willing to show you their animal and answer any questions you may have.

After you have purchased their animal, they bring the sales slip to you, with a picture of them and their animal.

They are most of the time, with smiles and thank you, and sometimes with tears for giving up their loved animal. After the sale comes a letter and a thank you card for supporting them and their organization.

We are so proud of these young people, their parents and leaders who have, and continue to make, Lake County proud of their accomplishments, the respect they show others and leadership ability they continue to show.

Lake County, you have much to be proud of living here, but one of the most important are these young people who will continue to grow, and many will return to help Lake County move forward.
