LAKEPORT — The Lake County Chamber of Commerce will present its third annual Oktoberfest on Main Street in historic downtown Lakeport on Oct. 6. The event will take place between First and Fourth streets from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
During the day, activities including the Rubber Ducky Race for adults and children, a dog costume contest (open to all breeds) and the Dachshund Derby Race (open only to Dachshunds) will take place.
This year”s event features two new contests: beer pong and a washer tournament.
There will be bounce houses for the children and for those who collect beer steins, there will be a beer stein competition.
This year”s Oktoberfest features Showcase the Band, which offers a large variety of German music standards during the afternoon.
The evening street dance begins at 6 p.m. and will feature Jimi Z”s band until 10 p.m.
There will also be roving accordion players throughout the day.The Oktoberfest official Festmeister, Tony Barthel, will have the Oktoberfest Ladies assist him as he invites the public to participate throughout the day in a variety of contests.
A large selection of microbrews will be offered for tasting during the afternoon on Third Street and other beverages will be offered for sale.
