I am appalled at the lack of leadership on the part of our President. He does not have a clue about preserving our interest or the safety of our personnel. I thought the lesson was wherever an American went, our Flag went with us. That seemed like a good deterrence to any harm that could come to us because whoever tried to hurt us would feel the wrath of our nation. When I travelled I knew not everyone would love me but I expected and deserved respect.
The President stated he sometimes gets his daily security briefing by reading reports rather than talking, discussing options, response etc. While this was unfolding he chooses to get the written report while travelling to a Las Vegas fundraiser. Are you kidding me? Is getting money for his re-election more important? I am sure that had he called the Romney election committee and said in light of the tragedy unfolding he was suspending his campaign. Romney would have agreed immediately. As I recall during the 2008 election Senator John McCain offered to suspend his campaign so the financial meltdown our country was facing could be sorted out with bi-partisan cooperation. Obama declined. I think his priorities are misplaced.
Romney commented on the message sent out by officials at our Egyptian Embassy as apologetic, the President concurred and then back-tracked. He said Egypt is no longer considered an ally but not our enemy. His press secretary then explained that ally was a legal term and we misunderstood what he actually meant. Romney wanted to hold a press conference and before the conference there is “an open mic,” which indicates that the liberal press was not collaborating but was in collusion in their preparing questions to make Romney appear on the wrong side on this issue. Like Romney doesn”t have a clue about foreign policy and of course not fit to lead.
The President set himself up for the fall when he alerted the world that as he put it to the former president of Russia “tell Mr. Putin after the election, I can be more flexible.” His weakness was for the entire world to hear and now we see the results.
