LAKE COUNTY — The Scotts Fire is 100-percent contained, CAL FIRE officials announced Friday evening.
The fire, ignited for unknown reasons Sept. 7, was held at 4,618 acres. The cause is under investigation.
Fire containment lines were constructed and strengthened around the entire perimeter of the fire, which burned on North Cow Mountain between Scotts Creek and Scotts Valley Raod, according to CAL FIRE.
A total of 504 personnel were on scene as of Friday evening.
Smoke may continue to be visible within the fire perimeter as mop-up efforts continue, according to CAL FIRE.
Fire suppression repair operations are ongoing and county fire crews are going to patrol and monitor the fire area, according to CAL FIRE.
Officials anticipate hot and dry weather conditions during the remainder of the fire season. They urge people to stay cautious during outdoor activities and while using power equipment that could spark a fire.
Mendo Rock Road Access to North Cow Mountain Road is closed at Mill Creek. The Cow Mountain Recreation Area is closed at the Scotts Creek and Mill Creek entrances. Glen Eden and Valley View trails are closed.
