FORESTVILLE — Junior Emerson ran for two touchdowns and caught a third to propel the Middletown Mustangs past the El Molino Lions 34-14 in a non-league junior varsity football game on Friday night in Forestville.

Emerson scored all 20 of Middletown”s first-half points on a 1-yard run in the first quarter, a 25-yard pass thrown by Tyler Holt in the second quarter, and a 57-yard run later in the second quarter. He also kicked two extra points.

Leading 20-7 going into the third quarter, Middletown (2-0) added to its lead on Wyatt Reaksecker”s 15-yard run and Emerson”s PAT kick. After El Molino closed to 27-14 early in the fourth quarter, Reaksecker scored again on a 25-yard run.

Emerson finished with 137 yards on 10 carries and Reaksecker added 69 yards on 10 carries. Coleman Drew finished with 58 yards on 11 carries.

Drew also led the defense with eight total tackles while Joe Burns and Michael St. Clair added six apiece. Holt and Noah Williams intercepted El Molino passes.

Middletown opens its North Central League I schedule Friday night at home against Lower Lake at 5:30 p.m.
