POTTER VALLEY — Alberto Lopez scored twice and the Upper Lake Cougars overcame an own goal to beat the Potter Valley Bearcats 4-2 in non-league varsity boys” soccer action Monday in Potter Valley.
Upper Lake improved to 5-7 overall with the victory.
The Cougars built a 3-1 first-half lead on the strength of two Lopez goals and another goal from David Becerra-Lopez.
Potter Valley closed to 3-2 in the second half on the own goal, but Gabriel Ramos scored later in the half to give the Cougars a little breathing room.
The Cougars host St. Vincent in a North Central League II game today at 4:30 p.m.
