Our country may be on the way back to being the hub of manufacturing that it once was because of the immense finds of new natural gas not far from many of our industrial areas. This source of low-cost domestic fuel has the best chance of reviving our very important industrial base.
Many of our competitors in the manufacturing sector must rely on very expensive and non-domestic sources of energy while our lower cost energy will off set a portion of our higher cost of labor and bring manufacturing back to our country in a significant way.
I believe this is a very real opportunity that must be given a top priority so that good paying jobs are retained and expanded right here at home.
While the push for higher education of our citizens is a very good goal, not all are qualified or interested in college and the type of work that requires upper level education, so the expansion of our manufacturing base would provide jobs for those interested .
We could be on the edge of a true turnaround if we exploit this opportunity to provide a reasonable source of power for industry.
So far the various government agencies have been supportive of the expansion of natural gas but the business press has warned of possible trouble in the form of new regulation, which might limit the expansion of production so if you agree that this energy source is important to our future employment picture you may wish to keep an eye on who is for continued development before you vote in the upcoming election.
As I am a ” Buy American” guy, I am very supportive of expanding any resource that will expand jobs in the USA.
