The letter to the Editor on Oct. 16 about Prop. 37 should have been printed on the front page of the newspaper.
The problems with Prop. 37 are huge. It is written by a lawyer for a lawyer.
I am a small veggie grower and I”m not sure that my seed company will ship to California under this new law.
Under this law all I have to do is order organic without asking “are they GMO grown?” to render me mute from lawsuits. This is not what I want to do.
My father was an Ag teacher and I think he would roll over in his grave over this law.
Please think this through, Prop. 37 is not what you think it is just because it is opposed by the big corporations.
It is also opposed by farmers and the Farm Bureau, the people who produce your food. What”s wrong with this?
Then think this through, almost everything you eat has been genetically-engineered, one way or another. Just look up Luther Burbank.
