TWIN LAKES — One home, 10 cars and more than 300 acres burned in a wildfire that is now 20-percent contained and the forward spread of the fire is reported to be stopped as of 8 p.m.

The blaze began along Highway 29 near A Street in the Twin Lakes area. It was headed north.

The fire broke out about 2:45 p.m. according to CAL FIRE.

Mandatory evacuations were in place for Murphy Springs Road to Perini Road. Voluntary evacuations were set for Joseph Trail and Candy Lane in the Twin Lakes community. Evacuation Center is at Lower Lake High School 9430 Lake St. in Lower Lake. Animal evacuation center to be announced.

Highway 29 was closed from Spruce Grove Road North to Spruce Grove Road South Thursday afternoon. Caltrans said there was no estimated time the highway would reopen. It is unknown if there are any injuries at this time.

Power lines were reportedly down in the area. Involved agencies are: CAL FIRE, CHP, OES, LCSO, DFG and LEAP.
