LAKE COUNTY — The Lake County chapter of California Women For Agriculture (CWA) has launched a website at www.lakecountycwa.org.
According to Annette Hopkins, Second Vice President Sharron Zoller brought the website idea to the board as a potential project in May. She arranged for Eric Schlange to give the board a presentation, as she had previous experience working with Schlange on the Pear Festival website. Zoller did some preliminary design work on the site with Schlange”s guidance and then gathered the information for content.
During the summer, the website came together and went live in mid September.
According to Hopkins, only a few of the 19 CWA chapters in California have their own website. The Lake County chapter”s website is linked from the state CWA website. Zoller is the site administrator and keeps the content current.
The Lake County CWA Chapter was formed in 1976 and currently has 80 supporting and active members. Lake County CWA is currently conducting AgVenture, an educational program designed for non-farming community leaders
The goal of the website is visibility to the community. It includes tabs for membership, scholarship, sponsorship and AgVenture.
