REDDING — The California Highway Patrol (CHP) welcomed 29-year agency veteran Bridget Lott as the new Northern Division commander this summer.

The Clear Lake Area CHP unit falls within the division, which encompasses 13 counties.

Lott served as assistant chief in the Golden Gate Division as well as its transportation management coordinator and occupational safety coordinator before receiving the promotion on Aug. 31.

Previously, she served as commander of the Redwood City office for four years and worked at the CHP headquarters as a commander overseeing statewide programs such as motorcycle safety, grants, transportation planning and older driver safety.

Lott also had a variety of other assignments throughout Northern and Southern California during her career.

Lott actively participated in her community, serving as a board member for the Assistance League of Amador Valley and teaching religious education through her church.

She earned a master”s degree from San Jose State University and a bachelor”s degree from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona.

Lott also completed an executive-level leadership course at the California Leadership Institute in Sacramento and graduated from the Federal Bureau of Investigation National Academy in Quantico, Va.
