TWIN LAKES — Crews fully contained the wildfire off Highway 29 south of Lower Lake on Saturday evening.
The blaze, started for unknown reasons two days earlier, burned 300 acres and destroyed one residence, 11 vehicles and 12 pieces of equipment, according to CAL FIRE.
No injuries were reported.
The fire threatened the community of Twin Lakes and resulted in mandatory evacuations for Murphy Springs Road. All evacuation orders were lifted Friday afternoon.
CAL FIRE asked drivers to proceed with caution through the fire area during the next several days because firefighters and equipment will remain there for mop-up and tactical patrol operations.
