KELSEYVILLE — A cast of 40 people is getting ready for the Lake County Theatre Company production of “Miracle on 34th Street.”
Last year, Lake County was treated to “A Christmas Carol in the Museum,” a theater presentation that was designed to set the holiday season off in a cheerful and nostalgic way. According to Suna Flores, that offering was so well received that LCTC decided to tackle another holiday story on the live stage.
Based on the Twentieth Century Fox motion picture of the same name, the Mountain Community Theatre adapted “Miracle on 34th Street” into a production that is designed to be enjoyed by the whole family.
A little girl named Susan refuses to believe in Santa Claus because her mother feels that make-believe is ridiculous and children should be realistic. The story depicts what happens when Susan and her mother confront the real Kris Kringle. According to Flores, the LCTC production features a new and original interpretation.
“Miracle on 34th Street” will be the inaugural LCTC production to take place at the Gard Street School theater in Kelseyville. Performances are planned for 7 p.m. Nov. 30, 7 p.m. Dec. 1, 2 p.m. Dec. 2, 7 p.m. Dec. 6, 7 p.m. Dec. 8 and 2 p.m. Dec. 9.
Tickets will go on sale Nov. 1 at Wildhurst Tasting Room in Kelseyville and Watershed Books in Lakeport. For more information, call 279-2595.
