UKIAH — Mendocino County animal care officials ask people to “name your own adoption fee” for any cat or kitten living at the Ukiah shelter as part of a two-month program.
The Mendocino County Health and Human Services Agency (HHSA) Animal Care Services will run the program from Nov. 1 to Dec. 31.
All cats and kittens will be spayed and neutered, up to date on their vaccines, micro-chipped and tested for feline leukemia. People will decide what they can afford to pay as an adoption fee.
The Ukiah Animal Care shelter, at 298 Plant Road, is open for adoptions Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Wednesday 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
