MISS: Robinson Rancheria tribal chair Tracey Avila, charged with grand theft for allegedly stealing while working for the Elem Indian Colony, missed her arraignment. Her lawyer said she was recovering from a partial foot amputation.
Competency questioned
MISS: The attempted murder case against a Lakeport man accused of shooting at two PG&E subcontractors in August, was delayed Tuesday after his court-appointed attorney declared doubt about the defendant”s competency.
Funds for furry friends
HIT: The Animal Coalition of Lake County raised about $9,600 for spaying and neutering animals at its Halloween Dinner Dance.
Bringing history to life
HIT: The Lower Lake Historic Schoolhouse Museum hosted Living History Day. Museum staff dressed in period clothing, demonstrated items from the past such as a 1906 player piano and told ghost stories about the “schoolhouse ghost.”
Busload of community caring
HIT: More than 6,700 pounds of food was collected on Make A Difference Day and loaded onto a Lake Transit bus to be distributed to 18 county food banks.
HIT: The food drive brought in about 400 pounds more than last year, with three fewer locations.
