HIT: Lakeport Police nabbed the man they say was responsible for five recent burglaries after he was allegedly caught driving a stolen car.
MISS: The Lakeport businesses burglarized included the city corporation yard, Lake County Tribal Health and the county”s Health Services Department.

Federal grants likely
HIT: The Lakeport City Council learned the city will likely receive grants for 25 percent of costs associated with proposed improvements to water and sewer systems.
HIT: The council delayed an agreement allowing a developer to defer paying utility fees. Members wanted guarantees the developer would hire Lake County workers.
Mountain roads
HIT: The Lake County Board of Supervisors voted to enter negotiations with a property owner to provide alternate access to Mount Konocti County Park.
MISS: The move came after a couple filed a lawsuit alleging the county”s bus tours to the county park violated the terms of a lease that allowed access to a road that ran through the couple”s property.
HIT: The proposed alternate road will skirt around the couple”s property, eliminating their concerns for the lawsuit.

HIT: The supervisors voted to draft letters to state legislators asking for the repeal of the state public safety realignment.
MISS: A prisoner who was released from the Orange County Jail attacked a California Highway Patrol officer on Highway 29 in Lower Lake.
MISS: The man was shot and killed by the officer after he tried to remove the officer”s gun from its holster.

HIT: Lower Lake High School SERVE Academy raised nearly $100 for NCO Community Action with a turkey bowling event.

HIT: OG West Coast Riderz donated about 150 turkeys to the food bank during its annual Turkey Run Saturday.
Spay/neuter surgeries
HIT: A $33,000 grant will finance spay/neuter surgeries of feral cats in Kelseyville. Officials hope to reduce the reproductive capabilities of feral cats by 75 to 80 percent during the two years of the grant.
