LAKEPORT — A man reportedly found with a syringe containing methamphetamine was arrested Saturday on drug-related and prowling charges.
Lakeport Police Department (LPD) officers responded Saturday to a vacant home in the 600 block of Armstrong Street about 1:15 p.m., according to LPD Chief Brad Rasmussen.
Officers located Robert Stephen Laplante, 46, of Lakeport standing outside of a beige Toyota pickup that was backed up to a locked driveway gate, according to Rasmussen.
Numerous items of property, reportedly associated with the home, were located near the locked gate and bed of the pickup, according to Rasmussen.
A Lake County Sheriff”s Office deputy responded to the scene to assist and conducted a search of Laplante and the pickup. The deputy located a hypodermic syringe that reportedly contained methamphetamine, according to Rasmussen.
The deputy determined Laplante was under the influence of methamphetamine.
Laplante was arrested on charges of prowling, trespassing, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and for being under the influence of a controlled substance. He was transported and booked into the Lake County Hill Road Correctional Facility.
