ST. HELENA — Middletown senior center Blaine Amos logged a rare triple-double of 15 points, 14 rebounds and 12 blocked shots as the Mustangs turned back the St. Helena Saints 37-29 in a North Central League I varsity boys” basketball game on Friday in St. Helena.
Middletown squared its league mark at 2-2 and improved to 10-5 overall with the victory, which was all about its 6-foot-8 big man.
“It was almost amazing at some points with what he was doing,” Middletown coach G.J. Rockwell said. “He played really well, really hard … they all did.”
It was an up-tempo game despite what the final score might suggest, according to Rockwell.
“It was physical, a real dogfight,” he said.
Tyler Rockwell added eight points and Anthonie Guzman seven for the Mustangs.

Fort Bragg 73, Kelseyville 37
At Kelseyville, the Fort Bragg Timberwolves knocked off the Kelseyville Knights in NCL I action.
Dustin Martin led the Knights (0-4, 2-13) with 12 points. John-Mark Reagan and Preston Griffin added seven apiece.
“The difference tonight was their size,” Kelseyville coach Scott Conrad said of the Timberwolves (2-2). “Our kids played as well as we”ve played in a long time. We did a much better job of being physical.”
Roseland Prep 58, Upper Lake 36
At Upper Lake, Roseland Prep defeated Upper Lake despite 11 points by the Cougars” Dean Reimers, who had a pair of 3-pointers. Shahid Hussain chipped in with eight points and Chris Cisneros had six.
Upper Lake fell to 3-3 in the NCL II standings.
