NICE — The house fire that killed two dogs Tuesday evening claimed the life of a third overnight.
Lake County Animal Care and Control Director Bill Davidson confirmed that a pug found breathing but weak at the fire scene in Nice succumbed to its injuries during the night Tuesday.
The blaze, which started in the living room of a single-story home on the 2900 block of Lakeview Drive, also injured two people. A man sustained burns and a woman suffered from the effects of smoke inhalation.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
