LAKEPORT — The Lake County Board of Supervisors (BOS) is set to consider the issue of continued independent legal representation for Sheriff Frank Rivero during his ongoing dispute with District Attorney Don Anderson Tuesday at the Lake County Courthouse.
Rivero has challenged the DA”s determination that he lied after a 2008 on-duty shooting, filing a lawsuit last week arguing that Anderson”s investigative process was insufficient and violated his constitutional rights.
The supervisors” discussion about Rivero”s county-funded private lawyer is listed among several non-timed items for their Tuesday morning meeting, which starts at 9 a.m.
At 9:15 a.m., the BOS will consider re-establishing the Geothermal Advisory Committee. The supervisors will decide whether to give staff direction regarding the status of the Edmands Reclamation District (RD 2070) at 9:30 a.m.
At 10 a.m., the BOS will discuss appropriating an extra $165,000 for weed abatement in Clear Lake this year as well as talk about funding options for algae abatement and invasive species prevention.
The BOS will consider a request for staff direction about the agreement with Lucerne Alpine Seniors, Inc., for health-related senior support services at 10:30 a.m.
Non-timed items also include a resolution supporting the reduction of American gun violence and a proposal to expand the membership of the Geothermal Impact Mitigation Fund Cobb Valley Committee by adding one at-large position.
