MIDDLETOWN — Nearly 200 people were on hand to celebrate the dedication ceremony for the new Middletown Library Community and Senior Center Friday afternoon.
Lake County Supervisor Jim Comstock, whose district includes Middletown, cut the ceremonial ribbon during the event.
Construction began on the roughly 12,500-square-foot complex in September 2011, more than 12 years after the Lake County Board of Supervisors first set aside initial funds in the hopes of bringing a new library to the town.
The senior center section of the Washington Street facility opened last November. The library portion opening followed on April 2.
