CLEARLAKE ? The City Council will receive notices of rate increases from Mediacom and Clearlake Waste Solutions at its 6 p.m. meeting Thursday at City Hall.
Beginning this month, Mediacom plans to charge a “local broadcast station surcharge” of $2.41 per month to cover rising costs of retransmitting Bay Area stations such as ABC, CBS and NBC, as well as raising its “family cable fees” $2 to cover other raising costs, Mediacom announced. The new rates will cost family cable subscribers an additional $4.41 per month.
Clearlake Waste Solutions has announced an annual rate increase of 1.47 percent to take effect on July 1.
Other consent items include consideration of an ordinance that would allow both incoming and outgoing council members to be paid for attending meetings in December of each election year.
