MIDDLETOWN — The Lake County Sheriff”s Office scheduled the grand opening of its new Middletown substation for next week.
The event will take place May 10 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the substation, 21277 Calistoga St. (Highway 29).
The Lake County Board of Supervisors approved the property purchase Feb. 7, 2012, but extended renovations at the facility became a point of contention between some county supervisors and Sheriff Frank Rivero late last year and early this year.
Rivero has said the building next to the highway on the south end of downtown Middletown was ideally located to provide a high-profile law enforcement presence in the area.
