COBB — The inaugural Yogi Bear Chili Cook-Off and Tug-of-War is May 18 at Jellystone Camp and R.V. Park.
The all-day event, sponsored by Light of Heart, a nonprofit that supports children and young adults, as well as Lake County food banks, will also feature live music and a live auction. Admission is $5 per person or 10 canned goods.
First place for the chili cook-off pays $500. Participants should register between 7 and 9 a.m. Fee for a four-person team is $100. The “people”s choice” judging begins at 1 p.m. For more information about the cook-off, call Robert Slack at 400-3665.
Registration for the tug-of-war is from 8 to 10 a.m. Events will includes three-person and six-person teams in men”s, women”s and youth (younger than 12) divisions. Entry fee is $10 per team. Children younger than 12 years are admitted to the event free-of-charge.
