LAKE COUNTY — Nobody was hurt but traffic slowed for hours after a big rig overturned and spilled PVC pipe all over Highway 20 east of Clearlake Oaks early Thursday morning, authorities said.

The incident occurred when trucker Benito Guerrero was driving a 1997 Peterbilt tractor-trailer pulling a two-axle flatbed trailer loaded with the pipe westbound on the highway just west of Walker Ridge Road around 5:50 a.m. Thursday, California Highway Patrol Officer Shane Roach stated.

Guerrero, 45, of Stockton was traveling through a left-hand curve when the trailer overturned for unknown reasons, which caused the truck to roll as well, Roach stated. Guerrero and the 11-year-old Stockton boy riding in the cab were uninjured.

The load of PVC pipe was scattered across lanes in both directions, according to the officer. Highway 20 saw one-way traffic control through the area for about four hours.
