LAKEPORT — Consideration of a draft update to the Lakeport Area Plan will highlight the Lake County Planning Commission meeting Thursday morning.
County staff recommends revisions to zoning and general-plan mapping within the Lakeport Planning Area as well as a draft addendum to the environmental impact report previously prepared for the area plan.
The draft proposes rezones or general-plan designation changes to about 72 square miles of unincorporated land in North Lakeport, areas south and west of Lakeport, the Scotts Valley agricultural area and a portion of the Cow Mountain Recreational Area.
The discussion on the draft update is scheduled for 9:45 a.m. Thursday.
The regular commission meeting will convene at 9 a.m. at the Lake County Courthouse in Lakeport.
At 9:05 a.m., commissioners will debate Steve Estrada”s proposal to construct a 576-square-foot building to use as a crematory at an existing Catholic cemetery on Highway 175 outside Lakeport.
At 11:30 a.m., the commission will discuss a major use permit for a property on Roberts Road in Middletown, where the applicant proposes a retreat facility with lodging, therapy options, meditation services and a commercial kitchen.
Applicant Andrzej Skwira also asks for approval of a reduced setback from Bradford Creek to allow continued construction of a partially built addition and large deck — work that previously occurred without permits, according to county staff.
