LAKEPORT — The Lakeport Police Department (LPD) is looking for residents interested in either joining or starting a neighborhood watch group.
The LPD, through its Neighborhood Watch Program, coordinates groups throughout the city to watch for and report on any suspicious or criminal activity. In turn, police keep these groups informed on up-to-date crime trends in their respective neighborhoods and provide education on home security and safety concerns.
The LPD hopes to “expand our network of neighbors looking out for each other,” according to a department statement.
People interested in joining an existing watch group or helping organize a new group are asked to contact Officer Joe Eastham at 263-5491 or jeastham@lakeportpolice.org.
For additional crime information and emergency alerts, visit the Lakeport Police Department Facebook page and Twitter feed.
Residents can also sign up to receive alerts from the LPD via email, smartphone or other wireless device at www.nixle.com.
