LAKEPORT — The United Christian Parish was the Grand Sweepstakes winner at the Memorial Day Parade on Saturday, with the Military Funeral Honors Team (MFHT), the Clear Lake High School Marching Band, the Corvettes of Lake County and Operation Tango Mike also winning multiple awards.
The United Christian Parish was also named “Best of Division” in the float division as well as taking first place in one of the service organization float categories.
The MFHT won the parade”s “Theme Award” and finished second in the military group award.
Other multiple winners were the Calaveras Belles, who were named “Best of Division” in the equestrian division, and the Clear Lake High School Marching band, named “Best of Division” in the music division.

Operation Tango Mike won a “Best of Division” award as well as finishing first in the military group category.
The Clear Lake High band was the overall “Judges” Choice” winner as well as the “Best of Division” and first-place winner in the music category.
First-place finishers in the equestrian division were Lake County Rodeo Queen/Princess & Court (mounted group), Lonne Sloan (senior novelty), the Calaveras Bells (senior matched-pair), Karly Petta (junior plain western), and Mary Ann Reece (senior Arabian costume).
The Corvettes of Lake County No. 3 finished tied with Cadillac Pat and Sue for “Best of Division” in the vehicle division, as well as winning first place in the car club category. Corvettes of Lake County No. 2 tied with Lake County Model A”s for second place in the car club category.
Cadillac Pat and Sue won the car category (with Bob Lininger finishing second), Massimillo & Sons Mobile Mechanics won the truck category (ahead of the American Red Cross), and Carl Thompson won the military vehicle category.
Operation Tango Mike won “Best of Division” among all groups, and also finished first among organizations and military groups.
Other first-place finishers were Pulse Fitness Studio (commercial float category), Lakeport Elks Lodge No. 2704 (fraternal-service float category), Cub Scout Pack No. 142 (fraternal-service floats, youth), the Lakeport Lions Club (organizations), and Riley Cab Company (commercial).
Second-place finishers also included the Lakeport Main Street Association (fraternal-service, “other”) and People Services (organizations).
