KELSEYVILLE — Sheriff”s Office personnel have identified the body found in Clear Lake Monday as Cuong Minh Tran.

Lake County Sheriff”s Marine Patrol Deputies were dispatched to the area of Konocti Bay at about 11 a.m., according to Lt. Steve Brooks of the Lake County Sheriff”s Office (LCSO).

The location of the body was in close proximity to the home in Kelseyville from which Tran, 31, was reported missing Sunday, Brooks stated.

LCSO deputies responded to the 10000 block of Boren Bega Drive for a report of a missing person at approximately 5:30 p.m., Brooks stated. Family members reported that Tran walked away from home that day at about 1 a.m. and had not returned.?

Deputies were told Tran went into the living room to watch television, Brooks stated. At approximately?1:30 a.m., a family member went to check on him and noticed he was gone. The house was searched and they were unable to find Tran.

The family was unable to provide any information as to where Tran could have gone, Brooks stated.

The deputies conducted a search inside and outside the home, as well as in a heavily wooded area behind the house and did not find Tran, Brooks stated.

Monday, it was reported that a boater saw what appeared to be a body in the water along the shoreline, Brooks stated. A coroner”s investigation was conducted and the body was positively identified as being that of Tran. The cause of death is pending a post mortem exam.
